WINKLEIGH Fair Week is almost here and there are many events and activities on the programme.

Already sadly sold out, “Britain’s Got Talent” finalists “The D-Day Darlings” will be delivering their brand-new show "Hooray for Hollywood" in the Village Hall on Friday, July 6.

The Clay Pigeon shoot is happening during the day on Saturday, July 7 at the Sports Centre followed in the evening by the Fair Quiz Night. Book your team tables!

All Saints’ Church Bazaar and Fete happens in the Community Centre that afternoon with cream teas being served in the Village Hall opposite.

The official opening of the Fair by John and Sue Short and the crowning of Fair King and Queen, Ryan Mack and Jasmine Coles, is on Sunday, July 8, together with the "Eggs and Flowers" service at All Saints Church and followed by the "Bring and Share" Teddy Bears picnic once again at the Sports Centre.

The Methodist Chapel is hosting its Fair Concert with the Jubilate Choir on the evening of Monday, July 9. Refreshments available and all proceeds going to Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Farming Community Network.

Winkleigh All Saints’ Church Flower ladies have a coffee morning on Tuesday, July 10 and the church will be open for their "Arts and Crafts of Winkleigh" exhibition during the evening of Wednesday, July 11.

Also on July 11, during the evening, is Winkleigh’s famous Vintage Vehicles evening in The Square. Ever popular, there will be vehicles of all ages, shapes and sizes.

On Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14, the Village Hall will be the centre for the Children’s Art competition and adults Art and Photography exhibition. Full details are in “Distinctly Winkleigh” and will be in the printed programme.

On Fair Day, Saturday, July 14, there will be market stalls between 11am and 1pm followed by a whole raft of entertainments during the afternoon including a Bucking Bronco, Diddy cars, Coconut Shy, Alpacas, the Bug Man and more.

The evening live music event this year is provided by top Abba tribute band "Take A Chance On Us". They will be performing in The Square between 7.30pm and 10pm.
