2pm to 4pm - Harvest Fayre, Stockleigh Pomeroy Village Hall, exhibits of vegetables, fruit, flowers & crafts from people in the village. Serving tea & cakes & there will be a raffle.

3pm - Concert with the Haldon Quintet present a concert in Holy Cross Church, Crediton. Refreshments will be served after the concert in the Boniface Centre, they are included in the price of the ticket. Tickets £20 or £10 for students. Free for Under 18’s. 2pm - Sandford Summer Show, Sandford Parish Hall, fruit, veg, plants, flowers, children’s classes, crafts, pick up an entry form at Sandford Community Stores or request an electronic copy at: [email protected] Completed entry forms must be handed into Sandford Stores by noon on Friday, August 28.

3pm - Afternoon Tea, Jubilee Hall, Chawleigh, £7 per person, in aid of hall funds.

2pm to 3pm – Crediton Courier drop–in, Crediton Library.

FRIDAY 4

10am to 4pm - and September 5 and 6, Sewn Together, an exhibition of locally handmade quilts and textiles, St Matthew’s Church, Coldridge, free admission, donations welcome, donations to Devon Air Ambulance and St Matthew’s Fabric Fund.

7.30pm - Auction of Promises, Exeter Inn, Thorverton, catalogues from August 27 at Thorverton Post Office, many lots, proceeds to go to repair and restoration of Thorverton Church.

SATURDAY 5

9am to 11am - Entries welcomed for Lapford Village Show, Victory Hall, public viewing from 3pm, teas.

10am to 1pm – Crediton Farmers’ Market, Town Square.

10am to 1pm - Craft Fair, Boniface Centre, in aid of Crediton Parish Church, 20 stalls, refreshments.

12pm to 2pm - Colebrooke Flower and Produce Show, Colebrooke Parish Hall and St Andrew’s Church, pulled pork, refreshments and cake and a chance to view exhibits.

12 noon to 3pm - Picnic in the Park, Crossways Park and Community Garden, Whitestone Parish Hall, all welcome.

1pm - Sampford Courtenay Flower and Veg Show opens to public, Village Hall, refreshments.

3.30pm - Public viewing opens, Chulmleigh and District Garden Society Autumn Show, The Pavilion, Chulmleigh.

6.30pm - doors open for 7pm start, quiz and pasty supper evening for teams of 4 to 6 people at £10 adult (£5 children), in aid of Crediton Parish Church. Book in your team with Mandy at [email protected] or 07590374429. Bar and raffle.

7pm - every Monday except Bank Holidays, Andys Man Club group meets, The Bookery, free and safe space to talk, confidential, open to any man aged 18+, no booking, no fees, no registration, just turn up, until 9pm.

7.30pm - A second chance to see the powerful new 50-minute film ‘National Emergency Briefing’ bringing together leading expert insights on the climate and nature crisis, followed by a short discussion with a panel, Boniface Centre, free admission and parking, all welcome.

7.30pm - An evening with Rhys, The Nightchurch Pianist, Crediton Parish Church, supporting the Amber Foundation, tickets £14.25.

7.30pm - Eyes down for Sandford Parish Hall Meat Bingo, doors open 6.30pm, Sandford Parish Hall, for hall funds.

SATURDAY 12

10am to 4pm - Shobrooke Harvest, Parish Church, music, cafe and bar, plants and produce, bric-a-brac, cake stall, dog show, raffle and auction.

1pm to midnight - Thorfest, festival of live music, local food, ales and cider and a celebration of the village and wider community. Thorverton Village Hall.

Cheriton Fitzpaine Ploughing Match, Netherexe Barton, Thorverton EX5 4DZ

11am to 4.15pm - Heritage Open Day, All Saints Church, Eggesford Barton and Eggesford Garden (the former garden centre), local history and artefacts at the church, refreshments and book sales at the church (proceeds in aid of the church), free entrance to all venues.
