THE wonderfully talented Crediton Town Band continues its busy summer schedule and its next outing big local outing will be a Free Concert on the lawns at Downes, Crediton (EX17 3PL) on Sunday, August 17.
The band will play by kind permission of Henry and Susan Parker, with entry free with voluntary donations in support of Prostate Cancer UK.
The gates will be open from 2pm to 5pm, with ample parking available.
All are invited to take along a picnic to enjoy on the lawn in front of the house.
Take a blanket or chair for comfort.
The band will play from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Expect a wide range of music, with tunes to suit all.
In addition to the Free Concert on the lawns at Downes, the Band has a number of other engagements which people might like to attend.
Sunday, August 10, 2.30pm to 4.30pm, Pub Garden Concert, The Old Inn, Widecombe in the Moor.
Sunday, November 9, 10am, Remembrance Service and wreath laying ceremony, Crediton Parish Church and Crediton War Memorial.
Recent appearances have included an Evening in the Town Square on Friday, June 27 and prior to that, on Sunday, June 15, an Afternoon Concert in the Square.
Both were well attended and everyone enjoyed the concerts.

Crediton Town Band is a great asset to the town and area, it is a non-contesting brass band which concentrates on playing concerts and community events throughout the year.
The Band meets for rehearsal most Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Hayward’s Primary School.
Iorwerth Pugh is the Musical Director with President Paul Evans and Chairman Chris Richards.
New players (particularly Cornets) are welcome to join if prepared to join in and double-up on parts where the band needs extra resilience for engagements.
