CREDITON Food and Drink Festival returns on Saturday, July 12 from 10am to 4pm - and this year it will be the biggest yet!

In addition to taking place on the Town Square, Market Street and Parliament Street will also be closed and filled with food stalls.

There will be 40 stalls: from burgers and veg boxes, to milkshakes and doughnuts.

It’s all about local; expect Devon honey, Devon vodka, Devon flowers.

There will be free talks and tastes all day.

Follow Crediton Food Festival on Facebook for the most up-to-date timings.

The provisional timetable is:

Jo Davey, Crediton Town Council Events and Communications Officer, said: “First things first: a massive thank you to Ashgrove Kitchens.

“Yet again, they are sponsoring Crediton Food Festival and providing a state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen to go in the festival gazebo. This event literally could not happen without their practical and financial support.”

She continued: “Families are welcome: Venture inside ‘Uncle Tacko’s Imaginarium’ showman’s booth; feed and change babies in the BAPS tent; marvel at the walkabout chefs on stilts; have a go at making foodie jewellery with Crediton Youth Service.

“The team of stewards in their stunning orange hi-vis vests are all volunteers.

“Some will have started the day at 6am: please show them some love!

“If you could volunteer at this or any of the Town Council events please get in touch? You’ll get food, drinks and endless gratitude.

Funded by Crediton Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce, the event is still completely free.
