THE first ever Big Boniface Bash in 2024 was such a hit that Crediton Town Council is bringing it back for 2025!

The patron saint of Devon, St Boniface, was born right here and this is the town’s day to celebrate its most famous son.

It will be on Sunday, June 8 in Newcombes Meadow between 11am and 4pm and include pop and rock in the bandstand, food and craft stalls, a bar and free kids’ activities.

New this year will be more games, a DJ, Punch and Judy and Mermaidcurls.

It’s a free, friendly, daytime party in the park.

You will be able to get a drink at the bar, and are advised to take a blanket or chair and listen to the bands.

Alternatively, pick up a coffee, explore the free activities, and shop till you drop at the market area.

Thanks go to Ernest Jackson and to Gilbert Stephens for sponsorship.

CREDITON FOOD FESTIVAL

Crediton Food Festival started in 2009.

When the amazing committee of volunteers decided they could no longer run the event, Crediton Town Council were happy to take it on and ensure the future of this standout annual event.

What’s new? More stalls, more for kids and more demonstrations.

Thanks go to Ashgrove Kitchens for again agreeing to take along their mobile kitchen.

With the support of Ashgrove Kitchens and the Chamber of Commerce, the Council have upgraded the sound system and booked “Uncle Tacko’s Imaginarium” to entertain crowds.

Entry to the whole event is free!

The demonstration tent line-up so far includes: Barny from Sandford Orchards with Mary from Quickes, Jim Cairney from Cairney’s Bistro, Patrick from Devon Dinnertime, Gretchen’s Cookery School, Jules Bristow from Tangled Bank Foraging and Sepali Godakanda’s Authentic Sri Lankan food.

It will take place in Crediton Town Square and area on Saturday, July 12.
