THE Saint Boniface Concert Society is delighted to welcome the Fibonacci Quartet back to Crediton to open its 2025 season of concerts in Crediton Parish Church, at 3pm on Sunday, May 25.

This year the Quartet will be playing a very exciting programme including works by Janáček, Smetana and the celebrated young Scottish composer, Helen Grime.

The quartet’s thrilling performance last year came on the heels of winning the YCAT (Young Classical Artists’ Trust audition) and they have continued to win accolades since, with First Prizes in a number of prestigious international competitions. The Quartet perform extensively throughout the UK and mainland Europe. Their busy summer schedule will include the Aldeburgh, Cambridge, Bath and Buxton International Festivals, and concerts around this country as well as in Spain and Germany.

We are very lucky to have a second visit from accomplished young musicians of this calibre here in Crediton.

Refreshments will be on offer at the concert. Crediton Parish Church has parking available, as well as disabled access.

The Saint Boniface Concert Society is a local charity founded in 1981 to bring top-flight professional musicians to perform in Crediton.

Its concerts are kindly supported by “Making Music”, by Crediton Town Council and by several classical music trusts.

• Thursday, June 12, 7.30pm: Gerard Flotats, Prize-winning Catalan Cellist, with Julian Chan, Piano - (concert supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust)

• Sunday, June 29, 3pm: The Portrait Players, Baroque Trio presenting 17th Century Italian songs - (concert supported by the Philip and Dorothy Green Young Artists Trust)

• Sunday, July 13, 3pm: The Corvus Consort, popular and accomplished vocal ensemble, professional singers directed by acclaimed musician Freddie Crowley of Chagford

• Thursday, September 11, 7.30pm: Manus Noble – outstanding Irish classical guitarist who gave an excellent recital at the Society’s 2022 AGM.
