THE 15th annual Model Railway Exhibition run by the Culm Valley Model Railway Club will take place on Saturday, September 20 at Willand Village Hall (EX15 2PL) from 10am to 4pm.

There will be 14 layouts on display representing a range of scales, styles and eras to provide a wide variety of entertainment, most of which are new to Mid Devon with some going along from as far away as the London area.

Children will be able to drive the little blue engine and his friends at the event.

Additionally, the Tiverton Model Engineers will have a static display of real steam locos in the larger gauges.

There will be two sales stands selling second hand model railway stock and books whilst the Shunting Puzzle allows visitors to try their hand manoeuvring wagons into the correct order as dictated by a card picked at random.

The “station buffet” will be serving a wide variety of refreshments including hot and cold drinks, cakes, sandwiches, bacon baps, hot dogs and pasties.

Peter Fosberry, Secretary Culm Valley Model Railway Club, said: “This event is very popular with locals and families as well as model rail enthusiasts so why not make it a date?

“The afternoons are generally quieter, a note to remember for those who want to go when there are less there.

“It promises to be a busy and fun day.
