IN early January, members of Morchard Bishop Gardening Club met in the Memorial Hall for a convivial evening. There was a delicious buffet followed by some fun and varied quizzes related to gardening. Pam Pooley had devised a general knowledge quiz, which racked our brains, and there were some devilish anagrams, tricky things to disentangle when chatting, eating and drinking. There was also a photo quiz of disguised locations in the village and a “Guess the number of Seeds in the Jar” competition. The most knowledgeable members received prizes. The buffet showed off the skills of the members with savoury and sweet morsels to delight all palates. Everyone agreed that it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The Gardening Club would be very pleased to welcome new members who can initially join at a reduced annual subscription rate or if the topic of one talk interests you, a donation of £2 is requested.
