THIS month Sustainable Crediton is launching a series of informal monthly events where interested people can all get together in a local pub to explore “green” issues.

Sarah Green, Sustainable Crediton’s chair, said: “We hope to share ideas at these events, maybe even kick-start some new initiatives, to get to know each other better and to have a good time.

“Our local band, the ‘Woodmen’, will also lead us in a sing-a-long whenever possible!”

Sam Robbins, Transport Group Co-ordinator, continued: “Our first event is at 7.30pm on September 15 at the Crediton Inn, with a discussion on electric cars.

“The speaker will be Giles Benbow, who has helped develop the charging infrastructure for electric cars and has owned several himself.

“He has kindly agreed to come and share his experiences with us, so if you own or are thinking of buying or just want to learn more about electric cars, then do come along.

“The events are all free and open to anyone and everyone - the only requirement being that you buy a drink while you’re there, as a ’Thank You’ to the Crediton Inn for letting us use their space.”
