QUEEN Elizabeth’s School in Crediton was filled with pride and celebration during the evening of Thursday, May 8 as staff, students, and families gathered for the annual Sixth Form Diploma Awards Evening.

The event honoured the exceptional achievements of Year 13 students, not only in their academic pursuits but also in their wider contributions to school life and the community.

The QE Diploma recognises students who have gone above and beyond during their time in Sixth Form.

It celebrates those who have embraced opportunities beyond the classroom and made a meaningful impact through the three core themes of Creativity, Action, and Service.

Recipients have shown dedication to their studies while actively participating in extra-curricular activities, volunteering, and work placements.

Many have carefully planned their next steps, gaining valuable insight and experience in preparation for life beyond school.

The evening also featured a number of special awards recognising individual excellence across a range of fields.

Beth Prosser received the Jean Grinney Award for Care and Compassion, in recognition of her kindness and unwavering support for others.

The Old Scholar’s Cup for Outstanding Work in English was awarded to Head Girl, Etta Fawssett, whose passion for the subject has been both inspiring and exemplary.

The Daphne Cartwright Award for Art and Design was presented to Mae Addis for her outstanding talent in photography, and the Jackson Tasker Cup for Design and Technology went to Henry Harper, celebrating his brilliant work in product design.

“This evening is a celebration of so much more than grades,” said Head of Sixth Form, Vicky Evans. “It’s about the commitment, reflection, and resilience our students have shown as they prepare for the future. Their achievements are a credit to themselves and to the school.”

As the evening unfolded, stories of leadership, perseverance, and community spirit were shared, leaving those in attendance inspired by the remarkable accomplishments of this year’s cohort.

Jasmin Groom, Assistant to the Head of Sixth Form, concluded: “A huge congratulations goes out to all QE Diploma Award recipients - your dedication, ambition, and community spirit truly embody the values of Queen Elizabeth School and Sixth Form.”
