DOWN St Mary Village Fayre will be held on Saturday, June 8 on the village green and in the village hall from 1pm.

There will be various stalls including cakes and books, a tombola, children’s sports, skittles, splat the rat and the now infamous Down St Mary egg throwing competition.

Manning one of the stalls will be village children, Nellie, Georgie and Alice, who have made items to sell in aid of Exeter Leukaemia Fund.

Entertainment will be provided by Devon’s answer to Roger Whittaker, Roger Colomé who will sing well-known country and folk songs from the 1950s and 1960s.

It is hoped that a fire engine from Crediton will also be present during the afternoon, shouts permitting.

Refreshments will include cream teas, a barbecue and a beer tent.

Funds raised will be for the Village Hall.
