THE Christmas Tree Festival taking place at Holy Cross Church is upon us and the organising Committee look forward to welcoming the visitors to this wonderful event.

The Festival runs from today, Thursday, December 1 to Sunday, December 4 and is open from 11am to 6pm each day (10am to 6pm on the Saturday) with refreshments in the Boniface Centre from 10am to 4.30pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 2pm to 4.30pm on the Sunday.

This year, there is a “gift” tree decorated by the Crediton Foodbank and everyone visiting the Festival, that is able to do so, is invited to leave a gift of non-perishable festive fare under the tree.

The Foodbank is hoping for crackers, Christmas cake/pudding, chocolate, sweets, nuts, biscuits etc, for its Christmas hampers, which mean so much to struggling families.

Amongst the 70 trees, there is also a Prayer Tree in the Lady Chapel where visitors are invited to leave their prayers on the tree.

Go along and enjoy the trees, the refreshments, Bridge Books and the other items for sale.

Don’t miss the concerts, tonight, Thursday, December 1, at 7.30pm, when the Ad Hoc Singers will give a concert with donations invited in aid of Hospiscare and on Saturday, December 3 at 7.30pm when the North Creedy Choral Society will perform - all with a Christmas theme.

The Festival raises funds for the repair and maintenance of the church building - vital for this Grade 1 listed Major Parish Church.

Organisers look forward to welcoming you.
