JIM Thatcher of Once Read Bookshop, on Crediton High Street, recently presented a donation of £112 to Hazel Hodge, manager of Pippins Pre School and Nursery.

The donation was made up of £50 raised from sales of books by local author Graham Lewis who donated £1 for each book sold to date, £50 raised by the sale of small handmade bracelets made and donated by Sarah and Lynda Pocock of Crediton and a further £12, which was raised by small donations from customers when purchasing books at Once Read.

Hazel, who was delighted with the donation said: "A big thank you to Jim who also gave each child at the presentation a free book.

"The children will look through catalogues and decide what toys they would like to buy for Pippins.
