A CREDITON resident who allowed a dog under his/her control to foul in a public area and not clear up the mess immediately has recently been dealt with by Mid Devon District Council (MDDC), according to Central Government legislation.
The legal route is verbal advice and a warning notice, and for a subsequent offence, an automatic fixed penalty fine of £80.
Various aspects of unacceptable behaviour may result in a Court case and a fine of £1,000.
You will have seen in the April edition of Crediton Town Council’s Newsletter that the Town Council is tackling this problem head-on.
Toxocariasis is a serious infection carried by parasites in the faeces of dogs.
The use of MDDC’s specific forms (which may be anonymous) is being considered to make reporting very easy and above all - effective!
You may use a dog bin, public litter bin, or your domestic bin, so steer clear of a fine, simply PICK IT UP.
