I FIND it disturbing that nobody on the Route 5 bus that I travel with has heard of the proposed drastic cuts to the evening services on the Exeter to Crediton route. I only heard about them by chance myself and think it is disgraceful that neither the press nor the local councillors or the county council have made these proposals loudly public or that any of the green organisations/parties has started a protest. There is a consultation process on at the moment which will end in April - how can the council consult with people who know nothing about the proposals they are supposed to be in consultation about? The proposal is to cut all buses from the Exeter - Crediton route after the 8pm bus from Exeter, leaving people who work evenings, through no fault of their own, without any transport home. If you have access to a computer, please look on: new.devon.gov.uk/publictransportbudget where you can click on route 5, find the proposals and then clock on Feedback Form and put in your suggestions and at the end your general comments.
