RENOWNED Devon tenor Thomas Cameron (22), has released a charity single which features a host of famous names.
"Don’t Stop Me Now?", Queen’s classic song is performed as you have never heard it before.
Singing sensation Thomas and the stars collaborate with Bow Community Primary School to raise money for their chosen charity, The Grand Appeal at Bristol Children’s Hospital, where Thomas spent some time as a child.
Thomas said that it was when he was 10 years old and on a school trip that he became really unwell and was struggling to breathe.
He continued: "I got transferred to Bristol Children’s Hospital as they had a specialist paediatric ward there and was in intensive care for 10 days.
"It was a scary time but the hospital were absolutely amazing.
"They basically saved my life, it was very touch and go and obviously the charity is what allows them to keep going, so there’s a really strong connection.
"It’s nice to give something back 12 years later."
The star-studded line up on the single includes Boney M singer Liz Mitchell and on bass, Glen Matlock from the Sex Pistols.
Other instrumentalists include Phil Gould of Level 42 on drums, Jamie Moses of Queen, Tom Jones and Paul Young and more on guitar and Oliver Poole on piano.
Other guest singers include Carol Decker of T’Pau, The Fizz (formerly known as Bucks Fizz), Cindy Alter of Clout, Jennie Matthias of The Belle Stars, Mike Christie of G4, Sarah Jane Morris of The Communards, Molly Hocking (winner of The Voice UK), Sam Hiller (Director of Les Mis and Phantom, Aine Carroll, Professor Tim Wilson, Pat Fagan, Jarlaith Mervyn and rising star Bonnie Faustina.
The piano was recorded by Ben Robbins at The Umbrella Rooms, mixed by Patrick Phillips and mastered by Alex Gordon at Abbey Road.
This is the third Christmas charity single involving children from Bow Community Primary School and Brit nominated tenor, Thomas Cameron’s own music school, The Rock Project Exeter.
Thomas reached out for support from across the music industry to support his single and had an incredible response.
He added: "This year, after the lockdown, I wanted to do something really big to lift people’s spirits.
"I reached out to people I have worked with in the industry to ask if they wanted to get involved and record a cover, they were all happy to be involved."
He described it as "a huge fusion of people".
He concluded: "The reaction from everyone was amazing, there was so much excitement and energy when I told them the idea, it’s just brilliant."
A delightful music video has been produced by Moments to Media Film and Photography to accompany the single which can be viewed on Facebook and YouTube.
Thomas hopes that people will support the charity by purchasing the single, which is available for download on all major platforms.
