DEVON County Ploughing Association held its Presentation Luncheon at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum on Saturday, October 30.

The Waie Inn provided those attending with an excellent lunch, which was followed by the Presentation.

The Chairman congratulated those Ploughmen who had represented Devon at the National Ploughing Match which had been held in Northumberland on the weekend of October 9/10.

Donald Tonkin from Cheriton Fitzpaine came second in the Semi Digger class.

Graham Soper from Dartington came third in the Crawler class.

David Kerswell from Buckfastleigh came second in Horse General Purpose and third in Horse High Cut.

Devon Ploughmen who had been successful in the return of local matches were as follows:

Semi Digger - 1 Donald Tonkin from Cheriton Fitzpaine.

Vintage Trailed class - 1 Peter Stone from Kingsbridge, 2 Martin Smale from Crediton, 3 Ross Hext from Cheriton Fitzpaine.

Vintage Hydraulic - 1 Colin Heard from Holsworthy, 2 Will Voisey from Ottery St Mary.

Classic class - 1 Richard Hartnell from Honiton, 2 Colin Sanders from Exminster.

Ferguson T 20 - 1 Eddie Vigers from Crediton, 2 Graham Bufton from Dartmouth, 3 Rachel Reed from Bickleigh.

Reversible Ploughing - 1 Sam Reed from Bickleigh, 2 Paul Pincombe from Witheridge and 3 Michael Pincombe from South Molton.

Overall Champion Ploughman was Donald Tonkin.
