AS part of Carers Week, (June 12 -18), Devon Carers are inviting all carers and those they look after to a service of celebration at Crediton Parish Church, on June 17, at 6.30pm.
This service is recognising the vital contribution that carers make to society.
Tim Collins, Devon Carers, said "Carers do a really amazing job, often in very challenging and demanding circumstances.
"This service is a way that we, as the people of Devon, can say ’Thank You’ publicly, and to celebrate their love and devotion to others."
The Rt Rev Sarah Mullally, Bishop of Crediton, will be giving a short address.
The Exeter Big Noise Choir, led by Colin Rea, will be performing well-loved songs during the service.
In addition a significant number of civic dignitaries, including the Chairman of Devon County Council, the Deputy Lord Mayor of Exeter, the Deputy Mayor of West Devon Borough Council and the Chairman of South Hams District Council will also be attending as a clear statement of support for carers across Devon.
A scrumptious cream tea will be available in the Boniface Centre (next to the church) from 5pm.
There are 84,000 carers in Devon who provide unstinting support to their family and friends. Without these carers the pressures on the NHS and social care would be even greater than it already is.
