FIREFIGHTERS from Crediton attended a motorbike and tree on fire outside Holy Cross Church in Crediton just after 1am on Tuesday, May 24.

Firefighters put out the fire using two hose reel jets and also used a thermal imaging camera to check the fire was out.

The motorbike sustained 100 per cent fire damage while the church itself suffered slight smoke damage to the wall and nearby stained glass window.

The cause of the fire, said Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, was thought to be deliberate.
