ALMOST 50 people enjoyed the Lapford Harvest Supper held in the Victory Hall at the end of September, organised by all three churches in the village, the Parish Church, Congregational Church and the Yeo Valley Fellowship, and what a great evening it was!

The event raised £270 which has been divided equally between the Heart of Lapford Development (HOLD), a charitable community benefit society, and ShelterBox.

During the evening David Bragg gave a talk saying it would soon be the 30th Anniversary of “Send a Cow”, and the charity always helped people to help themselves, which had been most successful, and making them independent.

He also spoke on the HOLD project and said it now almost has enough funds to prcoeed with the purchase of the land adjacent to the Victory Hall, which will be used to build facilites for use by the whole village. However, more money is still needed, and donations of £50 are still welcome.

Ian Hemsworth thanked the ladies for preparing the meal, and working in the kitchen throughout the evening.
