LAST Monday I spoke to Mrs Todd, who used to own the drapery shop in the High Street.

She was waiting for the bus at the top of Exeter Road and passed remarks about how dangerous it was crossing Exeter Road and could see the reason why I keep writing my letters to the Courier.

Last Tuesday morning 30 lorries and cars passed me until a Carmel coach came along and stopped to let me cross the road.

The driver on the other side stopped - it was good to see there are some drivers who respect pedestrians. The rest simply think only of themselves.

As for these so-called environment officers who have no thought for the very young and older people.

If their grandchildren lived near Exeter Road we would have the crossing that is being denied to us.

Seeing Mel Stride MP sitting on the swings in Newcombes Meadow play area - young children waiting to cross Exeter Road will not live to use the swings, unless a very much-needed crossing is provided!

People are beginning to realise our problems. The names people call the councillors I could not repeat.

Thank you also to the kind person who put the map through my letter box.
