ANOTHER busy weekend for Crediton Youth FC saw a mixed bag of results.
The U16s made the long journey to Millwey Rise and saw their fine run of results come to an end, when two late goals saw them fall to a 4-2 defeat. Sam Price got the consolation goals.
Performance of the day went to the U14s who ran away 7-0 winners against West Hill. Ben Harvey led the scoring with a hat-trick, Louis Garnsworthy with a double, and singles from Jasper Hunt and Ryan Sandland.
The U12s fell behind to an early goal in their friendly against Stoke Hill, and despite dominating the game, it took a late goal from Zach Mildon to earn a draw.
Returning to matches again were the U11 Cobras, who lost an entertaining game at home 2-0 to Heavitree Youth.
The U10s had their first taste of 9v9 football including the introduction of the offside rule in readiness for next season.
Despite trailing 5-2, they turned it around to end the game with a 6-5 victory over Brixington.
Finally, the U7s got to play their first matches of the season. Lockdown has really hampered the development of the club’s youngest age group. They travelled to Twyford Spartans and the coaches were really impressed by their attitude and performances and enjoyed a fine morning of football.
Sunday saw the U8s send two sides to Cranbrook for a mini tournament. Very few defeats, but too many drawn games saw both sides narrowly miss out on qualifying for the later stages.
