CREDITON Youth Football Club held its annual 6-a-side football tournament at Lords Meadow where one of the 140 teams entered came from as far away as South Wales.
Club secretary, Mike Edworthy explained: "We were delighted that the Tournament ran so smoothly and that so many young footballers enjoyed taking part over the weekend.
"The success of the weekend was only possible with the dedication and hard work of the club members, particularly Philip Harvey and his team for preparing the pitches, Sarah Dickinson who produced the programme and Sean Constable for the design.
"Mike Langhorne and his team who ran the results tent and all the people in the food tent led by Nicky Smith, Lyn Cartlidge and Karen Stevens, who were helped by an enthusiastic group of boys and girls.
The head Referee James Uren also did a brilliant job with his willing team of referees.
Thanks were also extended to the sponsors; Creative Furniture, Meadowside Garage, Crediton Country Courier, R J Salter and Son, Eden Vauxhall, Jewsons, Charlesworth, Nicholl and Co, Helmores, Kandy Toys, Bergoni sports and Tile Clearing Warehouse.
