CREDITON Town Council has announced that it will soon be moving offices.

It will be moving to 6 North Street, Crediton, formerly the offices of Gilbert Stephens.

Manor Office will serve as the official home of Crediton Town Council from Wednesday, October 1.

The Council said: “We ask you to please be patient with us whilst we juggle the logistics of moving.

“All members of staff are able to work remotely, so we hope to handle all queries as quickly as possible, as usual.”

Crediton Town Council has 12 councillors, six on Boniface Ward and six on Lawrence Ward. Full Council meetings are held regularly and there are a number of sub committees.

The Town Council owns and is responsible for the service of numerous facilities and property within the town including; three allotment sites, The War Memorial, St Boniface Statue, The Bandstand and Newcombes Meadow public conveniences.

Information about other facilities the Town Council manage can be found on the “Facilities” page of the Town Council website at: https://www.crediton.gov.uk/ .

The Council also acts as a sounding board for local opinion and it is consulted on a number of matters not least of all planning.

Councillors represent wards in the town and local people should know who their councillors are and if they have any issues they can ask their ward councillor to approach the appropriate agency to solve their problems such as housing, state of the streets and pavements and other issues in the town.

The Town Council has to set a budget from the Precept with which to pay for the services it provides and its support for local agencies, charities and groups who enhance the lives of Kirtonians.
