A FLAG-raising ceremony in support of Armed Forces Day took place at the Council offices, Market Street, Crediton, on Monday.
Armed Forces Day takes place tomorrow, Saturday, June 29 and is a day when the whole nation is invited to show support for our military community, both serving and retired, at home and abroad.
Crediton Town Council flies the Armed Forces flag for the duration of the week leading up to Armed Forces Day, from the Council offices, by kind permission of Mid Devon District Council.
The Mayor of Crediton paid tribute to those who had served or are currently serving in the Forces and then lead a minute's silence.
Members of the Crediton branch of the Royal British Legion, including President, Nigel Cooper, chairman John Shaw and vice-chairman, John Higgs and Poppy Appeal organiser, Derek Rowe, were among those present.
Also attending was the town clerk, Clare Dalley and some members of the public.
The flag was broken by assistant town clerk, Martin Ashley.
