CREDITON Town Band is due to play in the Town Square at the Farmers’ Market from 10am to 11am on Saturday, December 19.

In addition, the band will play in the Town Square between 10am and 12 noon on Christmas Eve.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions, the band will be playing in groups of six people alternating during the Christmas carol playing.

The band is looking forward tremendously to these venues as the last time it performed together was at its normal rehearsal on Wednesday, March 12.

Since then the band has had to stand down as a unit and due to the restrictions has been unable to meet and play under any situation.

During the playing on both dates, social distancing will be observed to meet restrictions.

Band members have missed playing at fetes in the summer, the Flower Festival in the Parish Church, Remembrance Sunday and others.

Members are looking forward to playing at Christmas events and adding some festive cheer to the town.
