CREDITON Town Band has thanked those who helped it during a difficult time.

Band spokesman Eric Parkes said: “The Crediton Town Band would like to give thanks to Richard Jones of R J Tyres on the Lords Meadow Industrial Estate.

“Richard very kindly offered the band the use of his workshop on the industrial estate for our rehearsals.

“At the time the band was using the barn belonging to Mr and Mrs Vere of Moor Farm, Morchard Bishop, but due to the length of travel for a number of band members we were forced to seek premises closer to Crediton.

“We were with Mr and Mrs Vere from May to June.

“Mr Jones offered the band the use of his premises, which we used from June until November 11.

“We have now returned to our normal rehearsal room at Hayward’s School.

“The band wanted to show their appreciation to Richard and this was by the presentation of a photographic plaque which was presented to him by the band chairman, James Hatchell.”

Mr Parkes added: “It was a very different period for the band being unable to rehearse between March 2020 and May 2021.

“We cannot thank Mr and Mrs Vere and Richard Jones enough for helping out the band during those difficult times, for which we are extremely grateful.”
