YOU could be forgiven for thinking that after all the preparation and performance of a demanding play week, clearing the set and tidying up, dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s that CODS would take a rest for a week or two.

However somehow that never seems to be the case. As soon as one door closes another one opens. Actually even that isn’t quite the case, because it isn’t one door opening, it’s two!

As soon as the set was cleared away our attention turned to the Old Town Hall where the auditions for our Christmas Panto took place. A busy afternoon with lots of fun (we were all in stitches!) and parts allocated.

This was followed by a read through on the Monday night with the cast. And so before you can catch your breath, our Panto “Aladdin” is already taking shape. Hey Presto ... Oh yes it is!

This will be staged in the Old Town Hall from December 18 to 21 and tickets will be on sale very soon. Be sure to check out our website “Box Office” page regularly where the tickets will be available (www.codsonline.com). That’s in addition to the High Street outlet for tickets at Olivia James. We are always very grateful to Perdie for her invaluable help here.

In addition to setting the Panto in motion, Wednesday night this week was an important, and much anticipated night for the Society. This was the launch of our Easter Musical “Sister Act” and it was very well attended.

To get up-to-date with all our events, and to look back at our past productions, check out our website at: codsonline.com . Read about our shows, plays and concerts. Page down on any webpage for the link to our “YouTube” channel and choose from more than 100 videos of solo songs and clips from our musicals.

You’ll see just how busy CODS have been...and still are. Oh yes we are!
