CREDITON Town Council, working in partnership with Mid Devon District Council, has launched its six-week consultation on how best to improve skateboarding, biking and scootering facilities in Crediton.

Following a launch event on Tuesday, July 25 at the existing skate park at Lords Meadow, the questionnaire hopes to gather information on what is important to users with the view to creating a development group. The event was organised by Crediton Town Council, with attendees being able to provide verbal feedback to council officers and councillors, join in with a graffiti art workshop being provided by Nick Halahan from Olas Art and to enjoy some refreshments.

Crediton Town Mayor Liz Brookes-Hocking said: "We really need a brilliant skatepark in Crediton. There are so many young people who would want to use the facility.

"As a council, we recognise the importance of investing our young people and extending their opportunity for active leisure.

"Following the consultation launch on Friday, July 21, we have already had 60 responses. That just shows how important such an asset is to our community!"

The consultation, which will run until Friday, September 1, offers an opportunity for responders to win a new skateboard deck!

Crediton Town Council would like to thank skatewarehouse, based in Okehampton for donating such a generous prize.
