THE Crediton Boniface Rotary Club has presented bumper cheques to two local organisations it is supporting this year.

The Club President Paul Fallon presented a cheque for £1,100 to Mr Phillip Wolfgang of Age Concern Crediton and another cheque for £1,100 to Mrs Margaret Gibson of The Crediton Play Scheme.

The money raised was from this year’s Crediton Industrial Bowls tournament and a draw.

The 51st Annual Industrial Bowls Tournament at Crediton Bowling Club saw The Rolling Stones triumph in the final with Graphic A runners-up.

In 58 teams of four, 232 people took part in this year’s competition which began on August 3 and ended with the semi-finals and final on August 15.

The winning team included Mike Stone, Jonny Stone, Tim Greenslade and Julian Hooper.
