A QUIZ Night held at the Boniface Centre in Crediton on Saturday, November 18, has been hailed as a resounding success.

A total of 24 teams, mostly with six members per team, took part in the quiz of eight rounds, with a total of 132 points available.

Questions were posed by Suzanne Lunn, who ran the quiz, ably supported by husband John, daughter Kim and friend Becky.

The quiz, bar, raffle and auction raised more than £1,000 for the Crediton ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund) Fundraising Group.

All the teams managed to get at least 50 per cent of the points and the top three team were: In third place with a total of 101 points - The Zealots of Zeal.

Joint first place with 104 points went to The Whimpletons and Thick and Thin. After a tie-break question the ultimate winners were Thick and Thin.

During the interval the Crediton ELF Group secretary, Alison Paltridge had her head shaved and through online sponsorship via the “JustGiving” page and a bucket collection during the shave, she raised an amazing £750.

Delicious pasties were served during the evening and everyone enjoyed a fun fundraising event.

Thanks have been extended to all who attended, the organisers and helpers, to Alison and those who gave donations or support in any way.
