A 13-YEAR-old, who lives near Crediton, is to have her hair shaved off to raise money for Alopecia UK.

Millie Twigg, a Year 8 student at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton, is raising funds for the charity because her brother has the condition.

Millie initially aimed to raise £100, and then £500, but already the total now stands at £657 and she is aiming to raise even more money.

On a justgiving website set up, on which people can donate, Millie says: “My name is Millie, and I’m 13 years old.

“I want to shave my hair off to raise money for Alopecia UK. The hair I cut off I will donate to The Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

“I am aiming to raise lots of money.

“I chose to donate my hair to give a chance for a little girl or boy to regain confidence wearing a wig. I want to donate money to Alopecia UK so they can continue their important research. I will be having my hair cut off on March 31.”

Millie’s father Gareth said that he hopes to “Facebook” live when she has her hair cut at a hairdresser’s in Exeter.
