CREDITON Probus Club held its annual meeting at the Red Lion, Shobrooke.
New member, Nigel Bennett was welcomed by president Don Nicholson.
The minutes of the last annual meeting were read, approved and signed.
The secretary, Eddie Bayliss, said it had been a good year and the speakers sub committee had eased pressure on his workload.
He thanked the committee for introducing a wide range of interesting speakers and members thanked Eddie for his service.
Richard Adams, treasurer, circulated a summary of income and expenditure. He said this showed a healthy balance. Members thanked Richard for his service.
The president said that he had enjoyed his year of office and thanked his officers, members and the catering staff for their support.
He then presented President Elect, John Hubbard with the Club's President's Badge for the 2010-2011 year. In turn John presented Don with a Club Past President's Badge.
It was agreed that the other officers of the club would remain as: Secretary: Eddie Bayliss, Treasurer: Richard Adams, Press Officers: David Dornom and Brian Threlfall. Auditor: Jack Fey.
Other matters discussed were a boat trip from Totnes to Greenway (Agatha Christie's home) in July, plans for the Christmas lunch and the possibility of holding an open meeting.
It was also proposed that, each year, the President would lead the club at Crediton's Remembrance Service at the War Memorial.
The date of the next meeting was agreed as Tuesday, July 6.
