SUNDAY, September 27 was Harvest Festival at Crediton Methodist Church when Worship on the Web was led by Andy Jerrard who works for the Plymouth and Exeter Methodist District as Rural Support Worker and Livestock Market Chaplaincy Co-ordinator.
The family challenge was taken up by Cheriton and Tedburn Young Farmers Club who produced a series of photos relating to harvest and produce.
The reading from Genesis contained the well known passage “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease”.
Andy said: “God’s promise will not fail.
“He controls the seasons, day and night, cold and heat.
"We have to do the planting and reaping.
“God can do tremendous things and gives us skills and trusts us to do the planting.”
As we celebrate plenty, we were encouraged to make donations to the Food Bank at the supermarkets to support those people who are struggling to feed themselves.
The church was open and almost 20 people were able to watch and listen to the Worship on the Web through television screens.
Andy was preaching live in the church.
