SUNDAY, July 12 at Crediton Methodist Church saw the continuation of the series based upon an article by Philip North, Bishop of Burnley entitled "Living the Empty Tomb”.
The service was led by Rev Ann Varker and the theme was a Vision of Humanity.
Ann talked about how Creation is recorded in various books of the Bible and said that God made us and loved us.
In the reading from Luke 4, Jesus read from the prophet Isiah and knew that the words he read referred to himself. He offered a welcome to those excluded around him and healing to the sick in body, mind and spirit.
We have the challenge to teach others to see the vision and to encourage them to follow Jesus.
In his article, Philip North says that we should take a stand against poverty, low pay and hunger. We prayed for people who had lost jobs in the last week and those who were struggling to cope and were fearful for the future.
We sang a song which said "Help me be your eyes Lord Jesus, seeing where your love is needed, may I be your hands to help".
If you would like to listen live to Sunday morning services at 10.30am please contact the church audio visual team using the email: [email protected] or telephone 01363 777308. Individual help will be given to work out how you can best access the worship.
