LOOKING at the news every day with reports of the problems in Afghanistan we feel so helpless that there seems to be nothing we can do. The only thing we feel we can do is to pray about the situation.
On Saturday morning, August 28, Rev Alison Richardson invited members of the public as they walked past Crediton Methodist Church to stop and tie a ribbon to the railings and say a silent prayer about the situation. This was open to all people of any faith or no faith.
Between 10am and 1pm some 80 people stopped and tied ribbons to the railings. Most of them said they were thankful for the opportunity to show their solidarity with the Afghan people.
There is a bunch of ribbons on the gate which any readers can use to tie onto the railings and say a prayer.
