CREDITON Library is excited to share news that it is partnering with Carving Community CIC, to deliver a community bench making project in Crediton Town Square.

Young people and older generations are invited to take part in the making of a sculpted oak bench together.

Using hand tools and a fallen oak from nearby woods, those taking part will be making a carved bench for the Crediton Library Community Garden, to be enjoyed by the local community.

The bench will be created during 12 sessions. The weekly sessions for 15 years+ will be on Wednesdays, 4pm to 8pm for six weeks from September 8 to October 13.

The weekly sessions for 11years plus will be on Sundays from 10.30am to 2.30pm from September 12 to October 24 (not September 26).

Mid Devon District Council Love your Town Centre Capital Investment Fund, Crediton Town Council, Evolve, Arts Council England, Exeter City Council and The Friends of Crediton Library are funding this project.

Crediton Library is managed by Libraries Unlimited, the charity responsible for running Devon and Torbay Libraries. The Community Bench Project is just one of the activities in the wide Libraries Unlimited cultural offering.
