YOUNG squash players from across Devon came to Crediton to compete in a two day junior tournament at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre.
Kirton Youth Squash Club's annual graded tournament attracted 30 competitors from Newton Abbot, Torquay, Exeter and Crediton aged between 10 and 18 years old.
The competitors were divided into three grades, A, B and C, according to their ability. Matches for the least experienced players or C Grade were held on the Saturday. The more advanced B and A Grades competed on the Sunday.
"I'm just amazed by how much the standard of play has improved since our tournament last summer," said tournament organiser and club coach, Angie Andrews.
Kirton Youth Squash Club was created two years ago to cater for the growing interest in their fast paced, exciting game. It now has 34 members attending its regular Saturday coaching sessions.
