A LOCAL fundraising group says it needs extra hands to help raise vital funds for end-of-life services in Crediton.

The Crediton Friends of Hospiscare group is a friendly, social group which raises money to support the Hospice services that are provided in Crediton and the surrounding communities.

It enjoys organising fun, local events in the town and is proud to say it has raised thousands of pounds each year to help support the local nurses who care for people in our community in their homes when they have been given a terminal diagnosis and need expert end-of-life care.

The group holds regular coffee mornings, a Ladies Pamper Evening and supports those who open their gardens for the charity in the summer.

Its next big event is on Friday, June 28, when volunteers will be delivering afternoon tea to local businesses, which is always very popular.

Marion Clements, Chair of the Crediton Friends of Hospiscare group, said: “If you can spare a couple of hours and would like to help us keep these local events going then please come join us, it’s always good fun and we have a lot of laughs while we do it!

“We are not asking for regular commitment and to join the committee but just to be on our register of helpers.

“The old saying ‘Many hands make light work’ is very true! So if you can help bake, serve teas, set up tables or put out collecting tins then we would love to hear from you.”
