CHAIRMAN Pat Uren welcomed members of Crediton Townswomen's Guild to their March meeting. This was the AGM and business was conducted first. Names of officers and committee were read out. All agreed to stand for another year.
The treasurer gave the financial statement for the past year. Rose Roberts, also spoke of the work of the Arts and Crafts group.
Pam Durrant reported on the Federation and the painting group.
Secretary Enid Keast gave her report on Guild activities during the year.
Pat Uren thanked everyone who had helped her during her first year as chairman.
Birthday cards were presented to two members and names were taken of members wishing to attend the Federation meeting in April.
Tea followed and as this was Fairtrade fortnight members were given tea and biscuits by the Fairtrade committee. Pam then read her poem.
The competition, for a bud vase, was won by Pat Matthews.
Kathleen Berry, our speaker, then showed how to arrange greenery and flowers in a small dish placed inside a card, which was most attractive and we all took our work home.
Thanks, on behalf of members, were given by Iris Northcott. Our next meeting is on April 6. The speaker will be Mrs June Redfern on the International Aid Trust. The competition is for pretty or unusual notepaper.
We have a very interesting programme for the coming year.
