STARTING in Crediton on Tuesday, October 13 will be The Good Book Club, an informal, relaxed monthly gathering for people interested in reading the Bible and hearing it read by others.

It will meet at The Bookery, 21 High Street, Crediton from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and every second Tuesday of each month thereafter.

It is being organised by Rev Jeremy Putnam, Team Vicar for the Crediton and Upper Creedy Valley Churches.

He explained: “It's not Church, or a Bible Study Group, it's just about reading together, and listening deeply to what the Bible says.

“Each month we focus on a different book or section of the Bible which can be read in your own time, or wait to hear part of it read at the Book Club.

“Whenever questions arise about the meaning or purpose of the text we offer space for reflection and thoughts to be shared.

“Tea and coffee are made available, and usually a piece of cake. The club is free to attend, copies of the Bible will be available.”
