MEMBERS of Crediton Garden Club will meet at the earlier time of 7pm for the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, March 27 at Crediton Library, postponed from tonight, Tuesday, March 20.

All are invited along to meet current members, join the group for £12 per annum and find out all the news. 

Club member, Krys Dunn, said: “We will also be making the arrangements for our second annual Plant and Produce Sale which will be held at Crediton Library (by kind permission of Library staff). 

“If you are one of those lovely people who grew and kindly donated small plants or produce for us to sell for club funds, the date is Saturday, May 5 from 11am to 1pm. Further information will be published nearer the date.

“Readers might be very surprised to discover that some speakers can charge upwards of £50 plus expenses for a one-hour evening talk. Fortunately for such a small club, many of our local speakers have been generous and waived a fee. 

“This enables us to bring other excellent speakers in from outside the local area.”

The very brief AGM will be followed at 7.45pm with an illustrated talk by Krys Dunn entitled “My Gardening Heroines”. 

Krys added: “Come and find out about great women gardeners and why they should be celebrated.

“For our April 24 meeting, Homeleigh Garden Centre at Barnstaple Cross have kindly agreed to give us an evening tour and a presentation by the horticulturalist.”
