THE ever-popular – and free - Crediton Food and Drink Festival is back for its eighth year, taking place on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19 in Crediton Town Square.
On the Saturday the festival will be welcoming a range of local chefs and food producers to run cookery demonstrations including fish and game cookery, sour dough pizzas, butchery and how to make the traditional cream tea.
There will be a wide range of stalls showcasing food and drink from local producers.
As last year, these food and drink stalls will line Market Street, as well as the Town Square, with a chance to buy and eat on the spot or take home.
Alongside the food and drink there will be pop-up theatre, music and other street entertainment throughout the Town Square and High Street. For younger visitors there will be a Cook-It event, face painting and much more.
The Festival will also feature a draw on both Saturday and Sunday with prizes being hampers of produce from the various stalls represented at the event.
The Festival opens again for the evening with live music in the marquee from a range of talented local youth bands.
Together with a chance to sample some locally-brewed beers, ciders and non-alcohol drinks, there will be more than a dozen tasty food stalls and lots of seating and tables to make this a sociable and fun evening.
On Sunday, June 19, the Festival continues with the Big Sunday Lunch – a great chance to buy and/or bring food to share and to catch up with friends whilst listening to more local musicians.
The focus for the Lunch will be the presentation of awards for the Short Story Competition with the theme of entries this year being food – so the perfect place to showcase this competition.
Crediton Food and Drink Festival is generously supported by Ashgrove Kitchens, Crediton Dairy and Claremont Marquees. Entry is free.
