FOLK music enthusiasts will flock to the Crediton Folk Weekend next month.

The event is held annually at Cheriton Fitzpaine and this year will run from Friday, April 12 to Sunday, April 14.

Concerts, singarounds, musician sessions, mumming and morris dancing will take place in venues across the village, including The Half Moon Inn, Methodist Chapel, St Matthew's Parish Church and the old Thatched School, courtesy of the Martin family.

Performers booked to date include Pete Grassby, Steve Turner, Stanley Accrington, Owd Yer Osses, Huw Chidgey and Catherine Handley, Nicola Clark, Andy Clarke, Josie Lloyd, Prince of Wales Rattlers, Loxley, Parker and Watts, EnChante, Alhambra, Vela Derek Burgess and Kitty Vernon, Jane Nicholls, Jon Hare, John Morris and The O Marleys.

Other artists will include Jim McAdams, Polden Ridge Mountain Boys, The Saga Louts, Dave and Ann Reader, Malcolm Gurnham and Gill Gilsenan, Derek and Mary Droscher, Benjamin Brelain and Rob and Gillian Guest.

Morris, Mummers and dancing groups attending will be The Fine Lady's Revellers, Broxham, Gwerinwyr Gwent, Dr Turberville's, Uplyme Morris, Borderline Morris, Lodestone Border, Wreckers Morris, Bradninch Millers Morris, Raddon Hill and Yattelton Hooden Horse.

Artists and visitors from across the UK and locally attend.

Admission charges are very reasonable and some events are free of charge. Tickets will be available at the door.

On the Sunday afternoon there will be a Victorian Music Hall held at the Half Moon.
