CREDITON and Exeter firefighters put out a tractor fire at Gunstone, Crediton, earlier today, Tuesday, March 24.

One fire appliance from Crediton, one from Danes Castle, Exeter and a Water Carrier, also from Danes Castle, were called to attend at 11.55am.

On arrival crews confirmed that the vehicle was well alight.

The crews used one compressed air foam jet and two sets of breathing apparatus to deal with the incident.

The tractor was totally destroyed by the fire.

GRILL PAN

The previous night (March 23), after a telephone call to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service at 8.43pm, two fire crews attended a fire at a domestic property in Yeo Crescent, Crediton.

The occupants of the three-storey town house said that their grill pan had caught fire in their first floor kitchen.

The caller also confirmed that all the occupants had safely evacuated the premises.

Crews were quickly on scene and soon brought the fire under control, confirming at 9.04pm that the fire had been extinguished by one hose reel jet and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

A thermal imaging camera was used to check the fire was out and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the property of smoke.

The grill was destroyed by fire but crews prevented the fire from spreading any further.

There were no casualties and subsequent damage was light, by smoke, to the kitchen only.DSFRS said that social distancing was being carried out by firefighters as much as possible.
