MEMBERS of Sustainable Crediton supported Devon’s first Re-use Week and were passing on the word with their stall at the Farmers’ Market in Crediton on Saturday, May 21, the last day of Reuse Week.
They were showing how to re-use scraps of carpet in the gardens, to re-use cardboard containers, knitting needles (especially those with a knob at one end) as plant supports.
Even old records could be put to use after being put in the oven to melt over a basin or mould, but do take care when doing this.
People could pick up instructions on how to make a bag from old jumpers, see how to decorate jam jars to turn into candle or tea light holders, stringing up CDs as bird scarers in the gardens and lots, lots more ideas on ways to save, recycle and re-use.
