CREDITON Dementia Action Alliance will be hosting a "pop up shop” in the town during National Dementia Awareness Week from Monday to Friday, May 15 to 20.
It will be located at 3 Lower Pannier Market, adjoining Crediton’s Town Square, in premises donated by Mike Sanders of The Bike Shed.
The Rotary Club of Crediton is sponsoring the week and the shop will be manned by members of the Alliance.
It will be open from 11am until 4pm, Monday to Friday and 10am to 12 noon on Saturday for one week only.
There will be information available from lots of different organisations to support people suffering from Dementia and their families and carers.
Representatives from a number of Crediton voluntary groups will attend, Age Concern on Monday, Neighbourhood Friends on Thursday morning and FILO on Saturday.
Also, a local Alzheimer's Society support worker will be there on Wednesday morning.
There will also be sign up lists for Dementia Awareness training and a possible new support group for carers.
