QUEEN Elizabeth’s School in Crediton celebrated an impressive set of GCSE results.

“Gargoyles” caused a stir at the opening of Art plus Frames art gallery and shop on Crediton High Street.

Master sculptor, Andrew Sinclair from Bondleigh, near North Tawton created a Bas-relief image of Her Majesty the Queen, which was not to be revealed until her reign had ended. It is now displayed in the Royal Box at Ascott, along with other portraits Andrew was commissioned to create of all the monarchs who have reigned since the racecourse was founded in 1711 by Queen Anne.

Age Concern Crediton and District received a cheque for £6,000 from NFU Mutual’s “Agency Giving Fund”.

The British Red Cross charity shop in Crediton celebrated its 25th birthday.
