AS part of CredFest 2017, Tina Guthrie will be directing her Torquay-based choir, the Torbay Singers, in a special concert entitled “A World of Song”, on Sunday, June 18, at 3pm in Crediton Parish Church.

The programme will take you on a musical journey across continents and through time and will include a variety of both sacred and secular songs.

For example, Rachmaninov’s beautiful “Bogoroditse Devo” (from his “Vespers”) will feature, alongside a wonderful choir arrangement of Piazzolla’s “Libertango”, a traditional Hungarian song, an English folk song “Dashing away with the smoothing iron” and much more!

The programme will also include some organ solos played by Nigel Guthrie and guitar solos played by Roger Robinson.

In all it promises to be a most enjoyable event, ending by 5pm and including an interval with refreshments.

Tickets are priced at £8 (18’s and under free) and are available from the Crediton Festival Box Office, or on the door.

All proceeds from the concert are in support of the Crediton Parish Church Music Endowment Fund.
