THE Welcoming Refugees in Crediton group has organised another collection of clothes and equipment to support refugees from Syria.

The collection of donated items will take place at Crediton Congregational Church from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, November 19.

The group says that it is a good practical way that people can help.

A spokesman said: “Even though the Calais camp has been closed, vans are taking supplies out to refugee camps in Syria and the countries adjoining Syria, and some of the donations will go to unaccompanied children and young people in Devon.

“Warm clothing and boots for men, women and children are particularly needed but also blankets and veggie food.

"Please bring anything you have available which will be packed into boxes and taken to Taunton before onward shipping.

“For more information see our Facebook page.

“Thanks to Wottons (furniture removers based in Tiverton) who have kindly supplied cardboard boxes.”
